Urban Design Proposal
Washington D.C.

This urban design proposal was a group project tackling the neighborhood between Union Station and the Capitol Building in Washington D.C. 

 

In its existing condition, the site is almost entirely open green space. We decided to restore a pre-existing neighborhood in the area with heavy urban infill that still incorporates wonderful public spaces thoughtfully connected in an urban sequence.

The proposal better connects Union station with the new neighborhood, brings commercial activity to the area, and better transitions the monumental scale of the national mall to the residential scale of the capitol hill neighborhood.
