Circe's Landing:
Taverna & Hotel 
Mati, Greece

As a continuation of my studio project of a group master plan for Mati, Greece, I designed Circe's Landing Taverna and Hotel for the coastline. 

 

I wanted to explore the town's connection with the natural coastline through a sequence of outdoor rooms moving from the primary street to the coastal path and beach. The design takes advantage of sea views and shaded outdoor spaces appropriate for the climate.

I worked to imagine the character that the town could take on in the future for one of its fabric buildings. I was largely inspired by the Greek vernacular I found in my travels to Athens and Nafplio, Greece.
