A New Center for the Arts
South Bend, Indiana

Located in downtown South Bend, this new Center for the Arts creates a space for the town to enjoy art and gather for events. The gallery is located on North Michigan Street and directly faces the historic North Pumping Station.

The composition uses strong axes of symmetry that translate through the entire building and into the back garden. The building is wrapped in a terrace that extends the gathering space and integrates the building with the outdoors.
