A New Museum in Paris

This project features the design of a new art museum located in the heart of Paris on the Rue Francois Miron and adjacent to Le Pautre’s Hôtel de Beauvais.

 

The building follows the French Hotel typology which introduces regular geometric spaces into an irregular site. The museum includes a variety of gallery rooms, administrative offices, and a restoration studio. The south part of the site occupies a large formal garden.

The architectural character remains consistent with the French Hotel typology and the surrounding urban fabric of Paris. The materials reflect the local environment with the use of Lutetian limestone and zinc roofing.
