Historic Restoration of Castello Chigi

This is a group competition project involving the restoration of the grounds of the historic Villa Chigi-Sacchetti just outside of Rome.

 

The intent of our design is to create a profitable, versatile, and enjoyable space for the Villa Chigi-Sacchetti. The design features a removable wooden theater and a separate event garden. The upper story of the villa is imagined as a flexible space to serve the needs of those using the event spaces, such as a bridal suite.

 

Also in the proposal is an updated barn, garage, and stable structure to enhance the quality of the grounds. The intermediate spaces are organized by hedges, shrubs, and other plants. In addition, a proposed renovation of the private pool area is shown. Beautiful gates and unique decorative elements add the finishing touches to the proposed villa landscape.
