An Affordable House for Habitat for Humanity
South Bend, IN

In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, our studio works to design several affordable houses for the South Bend area and producing a full construction document set for each.

 

In our design, we focused on creating a generous, open-concept first floor including a beautiful sun room for dining. The upstairs includes three gracious bedrooms and a shared bathroom.

Crucial to out design was the option for a basement-level apartment, which the family could close off and finish to bring additional income. The character of the house is elevated by the solid masonry piers and decorative plank railing on the porch.

The house will begin construction in the summer of 2024.
